Roulette, in real or online casino, is a chance game that uses a wheel of roulette and a grid of betting. In the opposite direction to which the globe turns, a ball is sent into a numbered roulette wheel. The bets on roulette are decided by the numbered pocket in which the roulette ball lands. The wheel and the ball are simulated in electric roulette, but the game and the payouts are actual.

The Wheel

There are little spaces around the edge of the roulette wheel. The size of the pockets is from 0 to 36. (An additional 00 pocket is available in American roulette.) Each pocket is red or black, except for the green0 and 00 pockets.

The roulette wheel is spun in one direction, and in the opposite direction, a small ball is spent spinning inside the wheel. Eventually, as the roulette wheel slows down, in one of the small numbered pockets, the ball comes to rest. That’s the winning number of the roulette! When you bet on that number or a group that includes the winning number, you win at roulette.

The Bets

There are many types of bets on roulette. That’s part of what is so fascinating about the game. The general rule to bear in mind when playing roulette before getting into specifics is that the more numbers you bet on, the better the chance of winning at roulette, but the lower your payoff. Conversely, you have a smaller chance of winning if you bet on fewer numbers, but a better payoff if you do.

For instance, if you gamble on a single number, if you win, you might win a $350 jackpot on a $10 bet, but you’re not likely to win very often. You have a good chance of winning pretty regularly if you gamble on all the red numbers, but you’ll get “just” a $10 payoff on your $10 bet. Not that doubling your money is such an awful thing, it’s just that it’s not either a huge jackpot.

Placing Your Bets

The roulette table features a betting grid that displays all roulette numbers in three vertical columns and twelve horizontal rows. You place your roulette bet on the appropriate roulette table area by placing your chips— or, if you are playing roulette online, by clicking on your mouse.

There are two main types of bets: bets inside and bets outside. Within bets are made on the roulette table within the betting system. These are bets on a single number or a small group of up to six numbers, so higher odds are paid out. Outside bets are bets made outside the betting grid; they have larger groups of twelve or eighteen numbers so that the chances of payoff are naturally lower.

Some online games of roulette also enable special bets called Call Bets and Neighbor Bets. In contrast to their position on the roulette table, these are bets on groups of numbers based on their position on the roulette wheel.

In the same roulette game, you can put more than one bet. For eg, you might bet $10 on an external bet and $2 on an inside bet as well as making a call bet. The possibilities are endless, and the decision is entirely up to you, of course, but making several bets can be an integral part of your roulette plan, which adds a lot to the thrill of playing online roulette.
